Frequently Asked Questions

Transparency is a core value at LHF. We've compiled answers to our most common inquiries spanning donations, sponsorships, and operations.

We work closely with local community leaders, primary school head teachers, and local government authorities to identify the most vulnerable and academically promising students who are at immediate risk of dropping out due to absolute poverty. Our field team conducts thorough home assessments before any child is admitted into the scholarship program.
Every shilling donated directly to the Education Sponsorship fund is locked to beneficiary expenses: tuition fees, uniforms, textbooks, school lunch programs, and examination fees. Our administrative and operational costs are covered separately by private funding from our board of directors, meaning your donation has a 100% impact rate.
Yes, if you choose the 'Full Year' sponsorship tier (KSh 35,000/$250), you can request to be paired with a specific child. You will receive their bio, academic progress reports twice a year, and the opportunity to exchange letters through us.
We love our volunteers! You can visit the 'Join LHF' page and fill out the application form. We generally seek volunteers for our quarterly Charity Drives, administrative work, event planning, and mentorship days. When a drive approaches, we alert our volunteer network via email.
Loving Hands Foundation is a registered Charity in Kenya. Corporate and individual donations made by Kenyan taxpayers may qualify for tax exemptions under specific KRA charitable statutes. For international donors (US/UK), please contact us, as we have specific conduit partnerships that provide tax receipts.
We believe in radical transparency. General donors receive our comprehensive quarterly email newsletter detailing our spending and impact. Dedicated child sponsors receive specific, personalized academic and welfare reports regarding their paired student at the end of Term 1 and Term 3.
To protect the privacy, dignity, and standard routine of the children, individual unannounced visits are strictly prohibited. However, well-wishers and donors are highly encouraged to join us during our official, structured Quarterly Charity Drives. Please contact us to register for an upcoming visit convoy.
